Clubs
may record up to 2 premier events on the Aorangi calendar
per year.
-
A
premier event is usually a Tournament that has always taken
place on or about that date for the club, and requires
support from players within the district.
-
Other
important events maybe included in the program at the
discretion of the match committee.
-
Clubs
are not to hold tournaments when a premier event is being
held within a reasonable radius of the premier event (say
40kms), without first getting approval from the club holding
the event, and advising the Match Committee
-
Other
than the premier event, any event that calls on golfers
within the area is considered to be in breach of the rules,
and that club could incur a fine of up to $500.
-
When
golf clubs hire out their courses for a charity tournament, it
is the golf clubs responsibility to ensure that no
advertising of the event takes place without prior written
permission from the golf club who is holding a premier event
at the same time.
-
A
tournament that does not call on usual golfers like an
Alliance Smithfield hit and hack day or police tournament
where players come from out of the region is not considered
being in breach of the rule.
-
If in
doubt contact one of the Aorangi match committee for
clarification.
