National Club Qualifier
National Interclub -
Previously Montana Challenge
Every year a National Interclub challenge
event is held with each District Association having a
representative team participating in the National final held in
early May at a venue determined by NZGA. The Regional event is
held in February at a venue determined by the Aorangi Golf
Association in its Annual Programme set up in October each year.
Competitons
Ashburton Cup - Teams of four, best three total gross
scores to count from each round, over two rounds.
Format
A team consists of four players. The event is played over
36 holes.
Best
three total gross scores to count from each round, over two
rounds. In the event of a tie, the best three from these teams
will take part in a sudden death playoff (best combined gross per
hole) on the day, commencing from the number one tee will decide
the winner.
The
starting time will be 8am, and a draw will be posted prior to
the event.
2009 Regional National Club Qualifier
Results - played at Gleniti Golf Club, 8 February
Led by 2 superb rounds by veteran Peter Hayes Gleniti
booked their place in the semi-finals of the National Interclub
Qualifier Tournament. In hot dry conditions the four man
team of Peter Hayes, Aaron Bailey, Nathan Mills and Dave
Peterson saw off challengers from 7 other clubs.
