Kurow Win Aorangi Women's National Club Teams' District Final

Womens National Club Team District Winners 2019 Kurow LR 17 Clubs participated in the Aorangi Women's National Club Teams' District Final at Geraldine in very changeable conditions – fine and sunny to start the day, followed by very gusty wind which then turned to cold rainy conditions. However a warm clubhouse greeted them on the completion of their round. Gavin Smith LR 1 It is with great sadness that we inform all Aorangi Golf Clubs of the sudden death of Gavin Smith on Sunday 5th May aged 59 years.  Gavin was an energetic and passionate past board member, elected 2011 and elected Chairperson in 2014. As an active member at the Tinwald Golf Club he became a  strong advocate of the Forum process to improve the administration of golf in the Aorangi association. Final Results 2019 NZ Women's Masters

The Aorangi Women’s Masters team have now completed the tournament at Nelson. The teams 36 hole day on Saturday proved to be the moving day for many teams. Catherine Knight continued her reliable form with 34 and 35 points. Following was Lynda Brown with a strong 30 in the morning round. Lynda had a very consistent tournament.Kathryn Baker followed up her awesome 33 points with good rounds of 27, but had the non counter of 24 on Saturday afternoon.Sharon Bradford had a good tournament, with four solid scores. 2019 NZ Women's Masters

Day 1 NZ Women’s Masters, Nelson Golf Club. The first round of the NZ Golf Masters sees the Aorangi women’s team sitting at second equal place. The tournament is a gross stableford format and saw Catherine Knight score a strong 35 points and Kathryn Baker performing superbly with 33 points. Lynda Brown and Sharon Bradford backed up with good scores. Lynda’s 28 points to be the third score used. North Harbour’s Vaha Fapiano scored an amazing 42 points which put her North Harbour team in the lead . That lead however is only 2 ahead of Aorangi, Canterbury, Waikato and Northland . Tomorrow...

Tokorahi Win R J Low Challenge Cup

R J Lowe Cup Winners 2019 Tokorahi LR Tokorahi won their fifth and final R J Low Cup challenge against Temuka 4.5 - 1.5 on 15 March. Tokorahi's name will now be engraved on the Cup for the third time and the winning team is pictured, back left to right: Val Clarke, Linda Scott, Jude Simpson, Margaret Hore and front Di McKenzie and Ralene Sutherland. Absent are Mary Hore, Sandra Gibson, Carolynn Rowland and Jacqui Watson who also played in some challenges.   The next match will be played on 17 April at Temuka between Ashburton and Geraldine.

Aorangi Strokeplay Winners LR The 2019 Aorangi Stroke Play was held in perfect calm conditions at the Tinwald Golf Club.Thank you goes to the Tinwald Golf Club and its members who made the day run smoothly. The field consisted of 23 Senior Men, 9 Senior Women, 10 Masters Men and 6 Masters Women.
