The Aorangi Women's National Teams' District Final was held at Gleniti Golf Club yesterday with the home team of, from left Trish Knight, Kate Elliott, Carole Brand and Barbara O’Connell winning in convincing fashion by a massive 11 shots.

Our team of Hamish Scarsbrook, Alex Kelliher, Joshua Ackerley, George Gallichan and Callum Patrick played in the 2018 South Island Under 19 interprovincials at Templeton Golf Club from 24 to 27 April.
All performed well, playing around their individual handicaps. Best individual was Hamish Scarsbrook.
The team overall were placed in the final position but with 4 of the teams on relatively high handicaps in comparison to other teams ( Otago,Canterbury, Southland and Tasman).

The Aorangi Men's and Women's Selectors are looking to hear from all players interested in representing our region this year.
The 2018 year sees the Men's and Women's Toro being held in Christchurch and the Men's South Island Interprovincials at Methven.
Also required are managers for the two Toro teams and caddies for the Interprovincials.

The team to represent Aorangi in the NZ Golf Women's Masters at the Inglewood Golf Club in Taranaki has been named.
With 7 of our best over 40 year old players competing for the 4 spots, selector Anne Seed had a difficult job deciding on the team.

Over 120 caddies will be required for the 2018 ISPS HANDA New Zealand Open being held in Queenstown from the 1st - 4th of March, 2018 at Millbrook and The Hills Golf Clubs. At the 2017 event, we had several caddies needed on the Sunday either caddying for Professionals or assisting some of the amateur players with one of our young caddies on the bag of the runner up, Brad Kennedy. 13 year old Alex Kelliher a 7 handicapper from Pleasant Point achieved what most golfers dream of yesterday. He was competing in the Canterbury Age Group Championships at Clearwater when he holed out for a hole in one at the difficult 149 metre, par 3 fourth hole using a 5 iron. With rounds of 84 and 85 off the blue championship tees at Clearwater it was a memorable day all round for Alex.

Our last day of round robin matches. A bye this morning then we played a strong host team Northland. It wasn't looking good after 9 but the boys dug in and put the pressure on. Jordan Green came from 4 down at 9 to win 1 up. An awesome chip in by the birthday boy. Regan was 2 down at 9 and halved his match. Captain Dan won 2/1. The match was halved 2.5 each. Effectively we knocked Northland out of the semis.
