The Aorangi Women's Vets Tournament was held yesterday at the Fairlie Golf Club in fine, sunny conditions with the course in great order considering the recent wet weather we have experienced. South Island Masters Tournament

The Aorangi Men’s Masters team competed in the South Island Masters tournament at the Lower Waitaki Golf Club on 7/8 October. With the up-coming national Freyberg Masters only 3 weeks away this was an important competition for the selectors to decide on the final 6 for the National tournament.  Otago, Canterbury, Southland and Aorangi competed in match-play over the 2 days. Tasman Golf decided against sending a team. The team of Owen Miller, Regan Stills, Robbie Bell, Dayle Lucas, Ray Grant and John Smitheram failed to win a team match, coming 4th overall. Overall results: 1st. Otago with 12 game points and 3 team wins2nd....

Women's Weekend Pennant Final

Womens Weekend Winners 2017 Pleasant Point 2 LR The Women's Weekend Pennant Final was held on Sunday 17 September at Timaru Golf Club. After close matches and a draw at the 18th hole Pleasant Point went on to win the playoff against Geraldine at the 20th hole. The Pleasant Point 2 team from left, Rebecca Best, Sharyn Kake, Brenda McEwen and Bev Green.    Pleasant Point 2 beat Geraldine: B Green lost to J Lawson 1 down.R Best lost to D Kenny 3/2.Green and Best beat Lawson and Kenny 1 up.B McEwen lost to S Silcock 1 down.S Kake beat S Bensemann 2 up.McEwen and Kake beat Silcock and Bensemann 2 up.

Canterbury v Aorangi Match

Canterbury v Aorangi 2017 Team A successful day was held for this years Aorangi vs Canterbury fixture.  The teams consisted of 8 Senior Men, 6 Masters Men, 4 Junior men and 8 Senior Women.  A big thank you to the Ashburton Golf Club greens staff ,club members and caterers for a well presented course and excellent day overall. Aorangi’s Senior Men performed very well in the morning to be down 3.5/4.5 at lunchtime.  In the afternoon reverse singles the wind came up and the team only managed 1.5 points.  Going down 5/11 overall.  Dan Perham had 2 good wins, with support from Damian Rodgers and Jeff...

Aorangi Golf Life Member Lesley Dobbs Passes Away

lesley dobbs Life member Lesley Dobbs passed away peacefully at Strathallan Lifecare, Timaru on 19 August 2017 after a long illness aged 75. A service for Lesley Dobbs will be held at the Aoraki Funeral Homes, 160 Mountainview Rd, Timaru on Thursday 31 August at 2pm. Golfers will form a guard of honour at end of service. Lesley Dobbs was awarded Life Membership of Aorangi Golf in 2015 following her many years of service.  Lesley began her golf in 1969 at Maungati Golf Club and joined their committee the year after.  As a golfer she was a fierce competitor in pennants playing for both...

The Women’s National club-based Home Links and National Teams Championship results have been finalised for 2017. Congratulations to Patricia Hollows (North Otago) who is this year’s national winner of the Aotearoa Cup with a score of 11 under the NZCR.
