Patricia Hollows Wins Aoteroa Cup

The Women’s National club-based Home Links and National Teams Championship results have been finalised for 2017. Congratulations to Patricia Hollows (North Otago) who is this year’s national winner of the Aotearoa Cup with a score of 11 under the NZCR. Srixon have again very generously provided sponsorship for this national competition and district winners will receive prizes from NZ Golf and Srixon in due course. Mid & South Canterbury Annual Golf Challenge was player at Highfield Golf Club on Sunday 13 August. A good field of 35 men and women played in the annual fixture between Mid Canterbury and South Canterbury.Aimed at providing a  match play tournament for those at Representative level  this years event was a great success, with a high standard of golf. The Highfield Golf Course was in brilliant condition with the set up providing some challenging golf for all players. Tinwald Triumph in Stylemaster Tray

The Aorangi Golf Stylemaster Tournament was played at Tinwald on Thursday 6 July in cool winter conditions with the course in great order. The Stylemaster Tray awarded to the best net aggregate team was won by the home club Tinwald’s June Bruhns, Di Bell, Joyce Van der Heide and Barb Cochrane on 154.5. Runner-up was Mayfield’s Christine Ross, Marilyn Cross, Lal Mulligan and Sue Graham on 156. The Methven Jug, awarded to the best individual pair not in the winning team was won by Mayfield’s Lal Mulligan and Sue Graham on 73.5. Two’s: Gleniti's Patsy Milne and Debbie Lovett.

Womens Silver Pennant Winners 2017 Mayfield LR The Final of the Women's 18 Hole Silver Pennant was played at Geraldine Golf Cub on Thursday culminating in a very exciting match between Mayfield and Gleniti with three of the singles going to the 18th hole. Both teams won 3 matches each at the end of 18 holes and an extra sudden death hole was played in which Jan Clucas sunk the final putt to give the Mayfield team, from left Glenys Carr, Judy Webb, Jan Clucas and Christine Ross the win and back-to-back titles, retaining the title they won last year, which was a great  effort.. Womens Vets Pennants Winners 2017 Rakaia LR The final of the Vet Pennants was played at Geraldine District Golf Club in excellent conditions between Rakaia and Lower Waitaki. The games were evenly contested with the final match going to the 18th hole. Rakaia were the eventual winners 4 ½ to 1 ½. Roncalli College win Aorangi Secondary Schools

Aorangi Secondary Schools 2017 Players The Aorangi Secondary School regional qualifying golf tournament was held on Friday 12 May at the Pleasant Point Golf Club with 38 students from eight different schools vying for individual and team honours.   Despite the inclement weather and cool conditions some good results were posted by our top golfers. Congratulations to all the students who participated on the day.  Hamish Scarsbrook (Roncalli College) took out the Individual Gross title with a very good round of 76 from Alex Kelliher (Roncalli College) on 82.  George Gallichan (Geraldine HS) won the best Net with a well struck net 68 from Patrick Goodwin (Geraldine HS)...

Aorangi National Teams Winners 2017 Ashburton LR The National Women's Teams District Final was played at Ashburton Golf Club on Thursday 11 May in overcast calm conditions with the course in great order.
