Alex Kelliher : 2019 Under 19 Tournament , Cromwell

Alex Kelliher Cromwell LR Our up and coming player, Alex Kelliher from Pleasant Point has just completed playing in the NZ Golf National Under 19 Men's tournament in Cromwell.Alex, who plays off a 3.9 was the only Aorangi Junior player entered.In his first round he lost a ball and the trauma of having to go back and play another from the tee made it difficult to get back into rhythm.He recovered with a 79 on his second round but missed the cut by 2 strokes. An awesome effort from Alex. There is no doubt he has a great future with Aorangi Golf.

NZ UNDER 19 CHAMPIONSHIPS GOLF , CROMWELL G.C. This week Alex Kelliher, Pleasant Point is competing as an individual at the 2019 Under 19 years Mens event in Cromwell.As Aorangi were not able to field a full team of 5 to compete in the Team event Alex is playing as an individual.This is a great opportunity for Alex to play with similar boys his age and of his level. Cath Daniels LR Cath Daniel  9.10.1935 – 14.7.2019 It is with great sadness that the Aorangi Golf Association announces the passing of Life Member Cath Daniel. Cath was a Representative golfer for the region and also a selector for the South Canterbury Ladies Golf Association.She was on the executive of the ladies association for 8 years, also holding the position of President.From 1990 to 1998 Cath was on the NZ Ladies Golf Council, this included being a National Selector. She had a great passion for the game, following all Aorangi Golf interclub and representative teams right up to her last hours.Cath’s Funeral was held in Oamaru...

Women's Open Pennant Final

Womens Open Pennant Winners 2019 Fairlie LR The Aorangi Women’s Open Pennant Final was played at the Ashburton Golf Club yesterday in fine conditions. Fairlie beat Rakaia (1)  9 –1. The score didn't reflect how close the matches were, with two being decided on the 17th hole and three on the 18th hole. Team: (left to right) Denise Biggs, Georgie Wright, Anne Anderson and Marie Anderson.Others that played in preliminary rounds were Janine Walker and Kelly Cassie.

Aorangi Golf Representative Information 2019

The 2019 season is well underway.The 2019 Aorangi Selection panel is looking for all players interested in representing their region this year. This year there is also an opportunity for players who may not be interested in playing the main Interprovincial events and who are in the 8 to 14 handicap range to represent Aorangi Golf at an event on the 28th July versus Canterbury Country. For those interested in playing the 2019 Interprovincials in December, involvement in Aorangi and/or Canterbury Pollock Cup pennants will be an expectation. Kurow Win Aorangi Women's National Club Teams' District Final

Womens National Club Team District Winners 2019 Kurow LR 17 Clubs participated in the Aorangi Women's National Club Teams' District Final at Geraldine in very changeable conditions – fine and sunny to start the day, followed by very gusty wind which then turned to cold rainy conditions. However a warm clubhouse greeted them on the completion of their round. Gavin Smith LR 1 It is with great sadness that we inform all Aorangi Golf Clubs of the sudden death of Gavin Smith on Sunday 5th May aged 59 years.  Gavin was an energetic and passionate past board member, elected 2011 and elected Chairperson in 2014. As an active member at the Tinwald Golf Club he became a  strong advocate of the Forum process to improve the administration of golf in the Aorangi association. Final Results 2019 NZ Women's Masters

The Aorangi Women’s Masters team have now completed the tournament at Nelson. The teams 36 hole day on Saturday proved to be the moving day for many teams. Catherine Knight continued her reliable form with 34 and 35 points. Following was Lynda Brown with a strong 30 in the morning round. Lynda had a very consistent tournament.Kathryn Baker followed up her awesome 33 points with good rounds of 27, but had the non counter of 24 on Saturday afternoon.Sharon Bradford had a good tournament, with four solid scores.
