The annual match between Canterbury and Aorangi Golf was held on Sunday at the Ashburton GC.
The day was perfect for this important fixture in both teams annual representative calendar.
The divisions were 8 Senior Men , 8 Masters Men . 8 Senior Women and 4 Junior Under 19 Men.
Results were :
Senior Men : Aorangi 9 Canterbury 7
Senior Women: Aorangi 4 Canterbury 12
Masters Men: Aorangi 6 ½ Canterbury 9 ½
Junior Men: Aorangi 3 ½ Canterbury 4 ½
An exciting victory by the Aorangi Senior Men, was the first ever in the history of the event.
With some very strong individuals in the Senior Men’s line-up our Association can look forward to some record breaking results over the 2019 Representative season.

The Men’s Masters this year was a team of 8. With the National Freyberg Masters tournament in our region this year the competition for places is heating up, therefore it was decided to field teams of 8 for this fixture.
Unfortunately the team had a loss but some good consistent performances showed that our association will have the team to beat on its home turf.
The 4 Junior Under 19 boys enjoyed their day with all matches being played with strokes.
They were unfortunate to go down by one point to the Canterbury team.
This experience will put them all in good stead for the future and we congratulate them all for their attitude to the tournament.
The Senior Women, who unfortunately struggle to put up 8 low handicap players to compete against the up and coming stars of Canterbury Women's Golf, maintained some good results. Some of the individual performances by the Canterbury Golf players was impressive but a little out of our girls league.
Thank you to Ashburton Golf Club for the effort put into this event.
