The annual Aorangi versus Canterbury representative fixture was played at the Ashburton Golf Club in cold conditions involving Women, Senior Men, Men's Masters and Junior Men.
In the Women's match Canterbury won 17 games to 3, there were a number of very close matches with the Aorangi Women pushing Canterbury all the way. Jenny Kellahan and Ginny Bolderston had good wins in the morning with Brownyn Flannery producing a solid performance to win 1 up over Kim Moggach.

St Andrews Golf Club turned out a well prepared course for the Aorangi Men’s Pennants finals on September 18. Congratulations to all the teams that made the finals. The course was in great order with greens that were true and fast and in the battle for the Holmes Cup it was the Tinwald team that handled conditions best on the day. The Ashburton based team proved too strong for fellow Mid Canterbury team Rakaia winning 2-0 in the final.

The Aorangi Women’s 18 Hole Open Pennant Final between Rakaia and North Otago was played at Temuka on Monday in calm conditions and the course in great order.

A great day was had at the Ashburton Domain with over 100 children aged 6 and 7 learning golf as part of a Have a Go at Sport day which was organised by Mid Sport Canterbury.
