Today's weather was breezy again but not much rain, the boys are all pretty wind burnt after only three days! All the morning matches against Hawkes Bay were close with two loses and two 1 up wins. Garth was 1 down playing the last hole needing to win the hole for a halved overall result he made birdie however so did his opposition! Soooo close!

Natalie Rooney and Kaylee Bell have got in behind the national wide campaign 'She Loves Golf' in an aim to get more women introduced to the sport. The Olympic Games Silver medalist Natalie and country singer Kaylee along with Aorangi Women's Golf representative player Kathryn Baker have signed up as ambassadors to help promote the event. Aorangi Golf are running an activation event on Sunday 11 December at Sir Basil Arthur Park in Timaru from 11am-3pm. It will be fun for the whole family with the SNAG Inflatable driving range.

Timaru golfer Jim Annett can't quite believe he has nailed his fourth hole-in-one. Annett hit his perfect shot on the 15th at Levels, using a five wood to carry 147m to the hole. The only downside was the dent in his wallet said Jim "I thought it was great the rest of the field stayed on to shout for me but soon found out it was the other way round."

The Penney Salver Final was played at Gleniti on Monday between Pleasant Point A and Highfield in perfect calm, sunny weather and the course in excellent condition.
It was the Highfield team of from left, Neville Petersen, Ian Rippin, Neville Newburn, Dave Braddick, Ash Cunnard and Bill Stevenson that turned the tables on top qualifier Pleasant Point defeating them 11-6. Highfield last won the Penney Salver 13 years ago in 2003 so they had good reason to celebrate their victory.

The South Island Women's Interprovincial was played at the Russley Golf Club with the five provinces of Southland, Otago, Aorangi, Canterbury and Tasman represented. The Aorangi team included Ginny Bolderston (Geraldine), Sharon Bradford (Ashburton), Catherine Knight (Ashburton), Jessica Shearer (Pleasant Point), Jenny Kellahan (Geraldine), Bronwyn Flannery (Tinwald), Kathryn Baker (Gleniti), Hillary Lovett (Ashburton), Manager: Pauline Bell (Ashburton). The Aorangi Men's Masters team of Jason Leary, Regan Stills, Jeremy Goodman, John Smitheram and Robbie Bell finished in eighth position at the NZ Men's Freyberg with 4 points and 19 games. The title was won by Auckland for the first time since 2003.
The team had solid wins against Southland, Tasman and Hawkes Bay along with halved matches with Canterbury and Wellington.

The Aorangi Women’s Veterans Tournament was held at the Geraldine District Golf Club which was in excellent condition yesterday, with Jenny Kellahan (Geraldine) winning the Hedges-Kennard Trophy (Best Gross over Field) on her home course with an 81. Isabell Bond (Lower Waitaki) won the Clarkson Tray (Best Gross over 65) with an 88 and Daph Campbell (Pleasant Point) won the Euny-Peg Trophy (Best Stableford 70 and Over) with 36 points.
