The 2018 Mid versus South Canterbury Challenge was held at the Ashburton Golf Club on Sunday 19 August.
Thanks you to the Ashburton Golf Club for hosting this annual event which was organised by the Aorangi selection team and acts as a trial for the 2018 Interprovincial teams and NZ Golf Freyberg Masters teams.
37 players contested this event.
The Ashburton Golf Club was presented in excellent condition . The players were met with a fine but frosty day which made the first
hour or so challenging.
As well as the core of Aorangi’s Senior and Masters players present there were also a good group of single figure players completing the field and keeping the region’s top players honest .
Present were 13 players from South of the bridge and 24 from North of the bridge. This year the competition was 36 holes of gross stableford.
South came out on top with their average points per player being 0.1 points ahead of the Mid Canterbury team.
