What an amazing day at our She Loves Golf event held on 11 December at Sir Basil Arthur Park, Timaru.
We had 38 ladies attend the event, mostly first timers, others that had been away from the game for some years and wanting to come back to the game. Having Kerryn Starr (ALPG Coach) and Pete Tutton (Golf Stop) on-board to assist with coaching was a huge help, and judging by some of the shots at the back end of the event, it would be fair to say the coaching tips worked – my thanks to Kerryn & Pete for giving up your time.
The BBQ was a hit along with the refreshments from DB Breweries. Port FM had their radio car onsite for the day, creating a great atmosphere with the stations music. We also had our Country music star ambassador Kaylee Bell in attendance for the day. After some coaching tips from Kerryn, it was easy to see how her game has improved in such a short time.
Just to make the day interesting, on the chipping station the ladies had a small inflatable swimming pool in which to attempt to get the balls in, and receive a prize for doing so. The concentration on their faces was priceless, and several were making their mark, thanks to the tuition from Pete. The SNAG inflatable was a huge success as well, not just for the children, but also the bigger people that tried their hand at this during the course of the day.
A huge shout out to the volunteers that helped make this a successful event. Nathan Standring, Grant Collier, Debbie & Steve Lovett, it was an early start to the day and a lot of work getting everything ready, thank you for your help. Also our sponsors that supplied the prizes and refreshments / food for our event, in helping make this a very successful event.
To the club members from Aorangi that attended - St Andrews GC, Gleniti GC, Highfield GC, Timaru GC, Geraldine GC & Pleasant Point GC, thank you. We hope with your interaction on the day that you will have managed to encourage the ladies to your clubs for a follow-up coaching session.
And to Kaylee Bell, our amazing Ambassador, great to have you with us today, your golf swing is improving with each visit to a golfing event. Lastly, - to all the ladies that attended the days event - we truly hope you left today feeling that you have achieved and we look forward to catching up again real soon.
