  1. Silver Pennant handicaps up to 18.4. Teams may have some players on a higher handicap Index but they must play off 18.4.  All other teams 40.4.

  2. Silver – singles only. Second round is completely different match and substitutions may be made.

  3. Weekend Pennant - preference to be given to Business Women (full or part-time) and Students but all club members may play.

  4. Veterans Pennant – players must be 60 years of age or over on day of play.

  5. Teams to consist of: Silver, Veterans and Weekend - 4 players; Open - 6 players.

  6. Open, Veterans and Weekend – singles and fourball matches. FOURBALL TO TAKE PRECEDENCE.

  7. If a match play card is not handed in at the end of play, a penalty of 2 points will be deducted from that players team.

  8. Where there are 2 or more teams representing the club in each Pennant, a player may play for one team only in any division e.g. if she plays in Team 1 of the Open she may not play in Team 2 of that competition.  It does not preclude her from playing in any other pennant competition.

  9. All matches will finish after 18 holes. In ¼ final if the result is tied there will be a countback on holes up on the day. If the games are still square, then and only then, a sudden death play off as in 10 will take place.

  10. In semi-finals and finals when the result is tied, a sudden death playoff including the fourball match(Open, Vets and Weekend) for No 1 & 2 players only, will be played starting from the tee where the match began until a decision is reached, with an official following play.

  11. Scoring will be 1 point for an individual win and ½ for each halved match.

  12. Teams defaulted to will receive – Silver 3 points, Open 6 points, Veterans 4 points, Weekend 4 points. Clubs are reminded it may be worth fielding a team even if they are one short.

  13. In all Pennant matches, singles and fourball stroke allowances is the full difference of the handicap.

  14. The lowest handicap index player is the No 1 even if No 2 is playing off the same handicap.  If players  are out of order instant disqualification.

  15. The Host Club is to decide any cancellation and to return the appropriate Score sheet to the Pennant organizer promptly.

  16. One copy of conditions should be carried by the Team Captain with a spare result sheet for the appropriate pennant match.

  17. The starting time and tees will be stipulated by the pennant organizer in the draw and in writing for all  the ¼, semi–finals and finals. If unavailable the decision is to be made by the Host Club.

  18. Players are to provide own lunch unless the Host Club has caterers in which case they MUST be used. Clubs with resident caterers are:- Ashburton, Tinwald, Temuka, Timaru, Gleniti, Pleasant Point.

  19. A charge of $2 per person for the day at all clubs.  Team Captain to collect and give to Host Club.

  20. Clubs are reminded that only full playing members are eligible to represent them at all Interclub competitions.
