National Teams District Final

Tournament Secretary to run this tournament, purchase prizes and provide the score cards as sent by NZ Golf.
Conditions of play will be sent out to clubs with the invitation.   Conditions in NZ Golf Manual.
Hosting club to arrange course, food and liaise with Secretary re arrangements.
Club may run a raffle for their own funds on the day

Conditions: 

  1. Competition format is Four Ball Best Ball stroke play.
  2. Handicap Indices current on the day of the District Final will apply.
  3. The Four Ball net scores of the two pairs in each club team will be added together at the end of the round to determine the team’s score.
  4. The gross scores to count must be individually identifiable otherwise the side shall be disqualified.
  5. One player and one marker must sign the scorecard.
  6. Ties shall be decided by a count back of Four Ball net scores.
  7. In addition to Four Ball scorecards, players must keep and return individual scorecards for handicapping.
  8. The first, second and third placed teams will receive prizes provided by New Zealand Golf. NB. South Canterbury Women’s Golf will provide further prizes.

2011 District Final - Timaru Golf Club, 19 May 2011
The Winners were Rakaia 127;  2nd Temuka 131; 3rd Pleasant Point 132; 4th Geraldine 133; 5th Timaru 134. Nearest the Pin: No 4 Julie Allan (Pleasant Point); No 6 Janet Rae (St. Andrews); No 12 Julia Knight (North Otago); No 15 Heather McKimmie (Rakaia).

2010 District Final - Lower Waitaki Golf Club, 20 May
The winners of the National Teams District Final played at Lower Waitaki on Thursday 20th May in ideal conditions was Temuka with 133 - Shona Foxcroft, Helen Belworthy, Frances Mulvey, Elizabeth Marryatt.
2nd Fairlie on 136 - M. O'Neill, B. Tiffen, J. Walker, J. Lane;
3rd Waimate on 138 - E. Patterson, J. Allnutt, S. McKenzie, C. Wright.
4th Timaru on 139 on countback from Ben Ohau and Pleasant Point.
The Mayfield team scored 137 but were disqualified for playing off the wrong higher handicaps.
Nearest to the Pin No 2 E. Patterson (Waimate), No 6 C. Trott, (Ashburton), No 14 E. Marryatt (Temuka), No 17 P. Smith (Tinwald).

2009 District Final - Geraldine Golf Club, 7 May
The Geraldine team of Sisi Silcock, Ginny Bolderston, Maureen Joy and Marie Blackmore took out the Aorangi South Canterbury final of the National Teams Tournament played at Geraldine on Thursday 7 May.

The team’s net score of 127 was comfortably ahead of second placed Mayfield which returned a score of 130 and North Otago’s 135.

Played in fine conditions on a well presented course, the tournament attracted a total of 76 players from 19 clubs in the district.

Detailed scores were:- Geraldine 127 (Sisi Silcock, Ginny Bolderston, Maureen Joy and Marie Blackmore);
Mayfield
130 (Edna Ralston, Nic Baxter, Johnny Wright and Ruth Keeley);
North Otago
135 (Amy Winchester, Eileen Ruffell, Ana Perkins and Heather McMullen).
Nearest the Pins:  Sandra Gibson 6, Sisi Silcock 9 and 12, Barbie Bentley 15, Linda McLea 17.
Twos
: Patsy Doaks, Barbie Bentley, Nic Baxter, Carolyn  Rowland, Sisi Silcock, and Joan McRae.
