The Aorangi Women’s South Island Interprovincial team played at the Balmacewen Golf course in Dunedin on the weekend.
With beautiful weather and a challenging golf course the weekend was a good lead up to the up and coming Toro Interprovincials in Whangarei for the team from left, Pauline Bell, Anne Seed, Sharon Bradford, Jessica Shearer, Angela Mowbray, Ginny Bolderston, Kathryn Baker and Judith Yates.
Due to the unavailability of some of the triallists the team were very fortunate to have Judith Yates from North Otago coming in at the 8th position.
Her performance was superb with 3 wins and a solid half against the Canterbury number 8.
Anne Seed kindly came out of retirement and played at the number 2 position. She took on a challenging role but experience and extremely good short game meant she held most of her competitors to tight matches.
Overall Results were:
Canterbury 4 wins and 29 and1/2 games
Otago 3 wins and 19 games
Tasman 2 wins and 12 ½ games
Aorangi 1 win and 10 ½ games
Tasman 0 wins and 8 ½ games
An unexpected team loss to Otago meant the Latimer Tray was returned to Otago for 2017.
